As a Career and Technology teacher for Health Science Technology, my professional objective is to bring what I have learned into the classroom to better serve the students. I use first-hand knowledge from my experiences in the hospital to inform the students about what they have to look forward to in their health care careers. These types of experiences and examples will help the students perform better in the very competitive workforce of the health field. Since technology is growing rapidly, especially in the health field, it is important to get the students accustomed to using various forms of technology. I have attended workshops through TEA and region one that give teachers ideas for the use of technology in the classroom specifically dealing with Health Science Technology Education. I am also a dual enrollment teacher, which I must be approved by through ATC an agency for articulated/dual credit. Therefore, my students will be capable of receiving state wide articulated credit or college credit for my course.
In this portfolio, you will find projects that I have created for use in my classroom and for the classes that I have taken in the Master's program. These projects contain the requirements needed to be a successful MTT and to earn a Master's of Education Technology. They were all created within certain courses and time frames and have been revisited periodically to update information or to make modifications. Each project contains different types of technology that can be used in the classroom or just to spice up lessons that already contain technology.
To navigate through this portfolio you can click on the links above to be directed to that part of the portfolio. Each page contains the same links, with exception to the matrix. In the matrix there are links within each project that is listed. In those links you will find direct links to my projects and artifact reports. You must use the back arrow to return to the matrix from those links. If at any time you get lost in the portfolio, you can always click the home page and it will bring you back to here, or click the tab that says wiki and you will be directed back to the home page. The plugins contain play buttons or they will start automatically depending on the project you are looking at. You will need and internet browser, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and an Adobe player to view the projects.
